Katrina Kaif is new hot property in Bollywood, with successes like Rajneeti, Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. This half British half Kashmiri actress has set Bollywood ablaze with her films. Her first film, Boom, did bomb on the box office but her very next films, Namastey London and Welcome were high earning affairs and did well at the box office. This actress also has two popular item numbers to her credit, all of which simply prove her credentials as a good actress.

Katrina Kaif then did a cameo in Sarkar and later a major role in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. She was then called a 'complete revelation' as the critics appreciated her work and the film did moderately well in the box office. She then did a role in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye opposite Akshay Kumar for which she received praises from various critics across the film fraternity, the film did not do well on the box office though. After starring in such hit films her film career was all set to rocket up as the audience loved her on screen presence and the producers loved the success she brought into films.

Then came four blockbuster releases of Katrina Kaif, Namaste London, Partner, Apne and Welcome and these were all super hits. Next was her hit action-thriller Race, followed by Singh is Kinng, which became Kaif's sixth consecutive hit at the box office. The next release Yuvvraaj was a commercial failure yet its script managed to make its way into the Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Kaif then starred in New York, for which her performance was highly praised, and the movie did well at the box office. She also was nominated for the same, for the first time, in the Filmfare Award for Best Actress category.

Kaif then did a cameo in the star-studded action-thriller Blue, known as India's first underwater thriller, which was eventually a flop. She then appeared along with Ranbir Kapoor in the blockbuster comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and was praised for her fresh chemistry with Kapoor. De Dana Dan followed, which failed to do well at the box office but was a good comedy film that lacked the script to woo the audience. The film did open well but was not a hit. Then was released Tees Maar Khan, a brainless comedy by Farah khan. It was set to be a flop as it lacked the plot and had major negative reviews.
